KYC & AML Policy
How PesoMax verifies identity and guards against money laundering to keep every player and payout safe.
Last updated: 14 July 2026This is a general template for informational purposes and is not legal advice. Before going live, have a qualified lawyer in your operating jurisdiction review and finalise this policy.
1. Purpose
PesoMax is committed to preventing money laundering, terrorist financing and fraud. This Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Policy explains the checks we carry out, the information we may ask you for, and the obligations we all share. It applies to every Filipino player who registers, deposits or withdraws on the Platform.
By using PesoMax you agree to co-operate with these procedures. They exist to protect honest players, keep criminal funds out of the Platform and ensure that legitimate winnings are paid quickly and securely.
2. Customer Due Diligence
Before your account is fully activated and before larger withdrawals are released, we apply Customer Due Diligence (CDD). This typically means confirming three things:
- Proof of identity — a valid government-issued photo ID such as a Philippine passport, driver's licence, UMID, PhilSys national ID or PRC card.
- Proof of address — a recent utility bill, bank statement or official letter (usually within the last three months) showing your name and residential address.
- Source of funds — where relevant, evidence of how you fund your play, such as payslips, bank records or details of your GCash or Maya account.
All players must be at least 21 years of age. Age and identity checks help us confirm this and block underage access.
3. Verification Process
Verification is quick and handled securely inside your account. You upload clear photos or scans of the required documents, and our compliance team reviews them, usually within 24 hours. Documents are encrypted and accessed only by authorised staff. For a full walkthrough, see our Account Verification guide.
Until verification is complete we may cap deposits, hold withdrawals or limit certain features. Providing accurate details from the start keeps your GCash or Maya payouts flowing without delay.
4. Ongoing Monitoring
KYC does not stop after sign-up. We monitor account activity throughout the customer relationship to spot patterns that may indicate fraud or laundering — for example, rapid deposits and withdrawals with little play, mismatched payment methods, or transactions that do not fit a player's known profile. We may ask you to refresh your documents or explain unusual activity at any time.
5. Enhanced Due Diligence for High-Value Activity
Where a player deposits or wagers large amounts, uses higher-risk payment routes, or triggers other risk indicators, we apply Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD). This may include requesting additional proof of source of funds or wealth, confirming the origin of specific transactions, and closer manual review by senior compliance staff. High-value accounts receive extra scrutiny precisely to protect both the player and the Platform.
6. Suspicious Activity Reporting
If we identify activity that we reasonably suspect is linked to money laundering, fraud or other financial crime, we are obligated to investigate and, where required, report it to the relevant authorities. We may suspend an account, freeze a balance or decline a transaction while a review is under way. To protect the integrity of any investigation, we may not always be able to explain the reason for these actions.
7. Record Keeping
We retain KYC documents, transaction histories and compliance records for the period required by applicable law, typically several years after an account closes. Records are stored securely and handled in line with our Privacy Policy. This lets us respond to lawful requests and demonstrate that our checks were carried out correctly.
8. Sanctions & PEP Checks
As part of onboarding and ongoing monitoring, we screen players against recognised sanctions lists and check whether an applicant is a Politically Exposed Person (PEP) or a close associate of one. A positive match does not automatically mean wrongdoing, but it does trigger additional review and, where legally required, may prevent us from offering our services.
9. Player Responsibilities
- Register using your own true, accurate and current details — one account per person.
- Fund your account only with payment methods held in your own name.
- Never use PesoMax to move funds derived from illegal activity or on behalf of someone else.
- Respond promptly and honestly to any verification or source-of-funds request.
Failure to co-operate may result in restricted access, held withdrawals or account closure in line with our Terms & Conditions.
